Rivers Casino Schenectady now operating at capacity

Following New York Governor Cuomo’s recent announcement of the relaxation of COVID-related restrictions, and approval from the New York State Gaming Commission, Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady is now back to operating at full capacity. Rivers had been operating at a reduced capacity (25 and 50 per cent) since reopening in September 2020.
All plexiglass safety barriers have been removed from all slot machines and table games, and Van Slyck’s bar (near the Rivers Sportsbook) is to reopen for beverage service only from 6pm until 2am. Van Slyck’s will be open every Friday and Saturday moving forward. The casino’s daily hours of operation will remain 6am until 2am until further notice.
In a release the company added: “The health and safety of our guests and Team Members continues to be a high priority and our “Sure Bet Sanitized” cleaning program will remain in place. Pursuant to the CDC and the Governor’s mandate, masks are still required for guests and Team Members who are not fully vaccinated, and optional for guests who are fully vaccinated.
“Rivers is also working on bringing back live entertainment to the Event Center and Van Slyck’s, reopening the Poker Room, along with beverage service on the casino floor as soon as possible. Updates will be provided.”
